1898 Victorian Brougham

This 1898 Victorian Brougham Carriage was a prestigious town carriage, usually pulled by two, but sometime four, horses. This very upscale carriage, with beveled glass, top hat storage and a speaking tube to the driver, has rubber around its wheels to cut down on noise as it moved over cobbles, or in the case of San Antonio, streets paved with octagonal mesquite blocks. This carriage was donated to the Texas Transportation Museum by the Institute of Texan Cultures.
