The Shooting Star Museum is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation.

The Shooting Star Museum is a museum with aircraft and much more located in the rolling
countryside of Medina County, half way between Castroville and Devine. Located off of HWY 90 just
west of San Antonio, it takes around 45 minutes to get there but it is a whole world away from
all the noise and distractions of the big city. If you are looking for a beautiful, scenic, Sunday afternoon drive with a truly unique destination,
well off the beaten path, you cannot do better than to visit this wonderful gem. The museum was
founded in 2000 by a group of aviation enthusiasts keen to share their love for flying and other
forms of transportation.

As well as an operational grass landing strip, the museum also has an air-conditioned library with
other exhibits, such as uniforms and pictures donated by local air force personnel. The museum
also shows movies, some classic, some modern, on Sunday evenings as a fundraiser. Everybody is
welcome!

The museum's volunteers sometimes bring their other projects with them when they are operating
the museum. If you are particularly lucky you may see some of Ralph Wilhelms' splendid personal collection
which includes a 1921 REO Speedwagon and a 1924 Ford Model T depot hack.
