PRIVATE PARTIES AT TTM

Please review the museum's safety rules posted at the bottom of this page.
The Texas Transportation Museum is an excellent place to hold your next party. We have a
PARTY CABOOSE which seats up to thirty people very comfortably. It is suitable for
year round use and has both air-conditioning and heat. Not only will you and yours guests
have exclusive use of the party caboose during your allotted time, you will all have full
access to the entire museum, including, of course, our regularly scheduled train rides.
A ride in one of our antique fire trucks or other vehicle may also be available, depending
on the weather and the availability of a trained volunteer.

The party caboose is nicely decorated on the inside and provides ample space for
serving food and drinks, and yet still looks like the old caboose it is on the outside. It is
a great venue to throw a party for kids of all ages. Renting the party caboose requires a
$50.00 non-refundable deposit at least three weeks prior to the party date. An additional
$50.00 is due when you arrive to set up your party. We supply name tags so your guests
will not be asked to pay admission as they move around our huge site.

We also have a number of outside picnic tables, most
shaded by trees. These can be reserved for only a $25.00 non-refundable deposit, required at
least three weeks prior to the party date. An additional $25.00 will be due at time of arrival

A Word About Safety

Everyone at Texas Transportation Museum wants your visit to be a
pleasant one. But we also care that it is a safe experience, too.
Railroads, by their very nature, are both fascinating and
dangerous. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP A TRAIN QUICKLY. Even going
at the slow speed we use at the museum, even in an emergency, a
train will travel many more feet than a car would at the same
speed. In addition, it is simply not possible for the engineer to
see everything that is happening "behind" the train.
PLEASE HELP US TO KEEP OUR VERY SUCCESSFUL ACCIDENT PREVENTION
RECORD BY FOLLOWING THIS IMPORTANT RULE :
KEEP OFF THE TRACKS AT ALL TIMES!
Keep an eye on your kids. Don't let them wander off on
their own. Keep them away from the tracks and from the roads. We
try to keep our exhibits out where you can see them, but much of
our collection is both rare and easily damaged.
Please keep small hands away, so everything and everyone is safe.
