2009 San Antonio Ford Model T show group pictures
2009 was the third annual Ford Model T car Show held at the grounds of the Texas Transportation Museum in San
Antonio. Once again the T Fords of Texas co-hosted the event. The show's principal sponsor, also for the third
year, was the Red McCombs Automotive Group. The show attracted some 33 Ts of all kinds, open 2 and 4 door tourers,
closed coupes and sedans, light and heavy duty trucks, depot hacks, an ambulance, two seat roadsters and a single seat race car.
The "star" of the show was a restured camper, based on a 1926 truck chassis. Bob and Virgie Colt brought this truly
remarkable vehicle all the way from Houston. Almost no one had ever seen anything like it.

When the Colts found the camper it was almost too far gone to be saved. However, when it comes to Model T enthusiasts, almost
nothing is too far gone to be saved. The exterior metal work was in bad shape and almsot all the wood had disappeared. Nonetheless,
using skill, careful research and intuition the vehicle has been lovingly restored, complete with interior and exterior
compartments for fishing rods, guns plus fold down exterior counters, window shades and, of course, a bed. Next on the
agenda is getting the engine running again and then, once again, this wonderful relic of slower, more peaceful recreation, can motivate iself
along the highways and, more likely, the byways.

All in all, everybody had a great time. So much so, there is a very good chance we'll do it all again next year.
