Road Vehicle Collection

rvc

The museum's road vehicle collection is best described as eclectic. It ranges from horse drawn carriages to large convertibles from the late 1960's, with many an interesting diversion in between. It is, of course, one of the most biggest areas of the museum not devoted to railroading. While it was hoped that the museum would also have aviation and nautical sections, this never realyy happened. The cars and carriages themselves came to the museum after it had been going for almost twenty years. Everything we have in this area is a donation or is on permanent loan. At one point we had far more in our collection than we have now. What we have left is an attempt to show the development of road transportation over the last century, and even the latter part of the one before that.

The collection is presented, below, under three main headings.
